Ducati Hypermotard 950 has been launched in India for INR 11,99,000. The price is ex-showroom and remains the same all across the country. The supermoto category motorcycle is fun-filled and not just that, it is a few ranks higher on the chart when compared to the old Hypermotard 939. The motorcycle is powered by a familiar 937cc, twin cylinder engine, producing 114 HP of maximum power at 9000 rpm and 96 Nm at 7250 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The seat height is much higher than usual at 870mm but still, the narrow profile helps easy foot placement for sure.
The new Ducati Hypermotard 950 is 4HP more powerful, uses premium components and offers so much in just 178 kg of dry weight. The overall power-to-weight ratio is eye-popping as the motorcycle is typically a rally-based product that now uses road legal tires and can be practically ridden anywhere. Unlike heavy touring machines, this one comes without the huge front fascia and thus, long rides may not be as cool as assumed by most riders. However, the long travel suspension and flat seat make sure that nothing can stop you from feeling the high-speed urban thrill anytime and anywhere.
The motorcycle is available with Bosch cornering ABS for added safety, Marzocchi 45mm front USD forks, Sachs monoshock, and 320mm front brakes. The overall weight is down by 4 kg from the last-gen Hypermotard. Aprilia is the only brand that offers a relatively familiar supermoto machine in India but lack of dealerships and their focus on mass-market products make Hypermotard an exclusive option. The instrument console now comes with a 4.3-inch display with all the modern reading embedded into it. Unlike regular bikes, this motorcycle clearly screams exclusivity out of the dual-tone body.
