Ducati Monster 821 gave a great year to the Italian superbike brand and nothing could get better than celebrating the success with free accessories with the Monster 797+ and 821 models. The Indian arm of the brand sold more than 100 units in last one year and thus, made it an important model from the brand that competes against Yamaha MT-09, Triumph Street Triple and Suzuki GSX-S750 in India. Kawasaki Z900 is also an indirect rival but, price gap and difference of components between both the models is huge enough to keep them away.
The recent jump in pricing has made the 797+ expensive in comparison with other motorcycles with similar output values. The 821 is good for INR 10.99 lakh of a price tag, getting a direct INR 1.50 lakh (approx) worth jump from the last retail price. The Ducati Monster 821 is available with both Termignoni slip-on exhaust and bi-directional quick-shifter while the 797+ is available with just the Termignoni exhaust system. Triumph Street Triple is the closest rival to Monster 821 and that too in its RS guise. Monster 821 is good for 109 HP of maximum power and 86 Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
