Official Press Release

New Delhi, 15 September, 2016: Ducati today launched one of the most awaited motorcycles in India, the XDiavel. The Ducati XDiavel represents the merging of two worlds in one motorcycle – the Cruiser world with relaxed riding, long journeys and feet forward ergonomics – and the Ducati world, characterised by Italian style, refined engineering and unparalleled performance.

Ravi Avalur, Managing Director of Ducati India said: “Cruisers are the largest segment in the luxury motorcycle category in India. We wanted to enter this segment with a product that revolutionises the cruiser concept. The XDiavel achieves that with its perfect blend of futuristic styling, state-of-the-art technology and an engine that has been meticulously designed to the very last detail. Our dealers have been overwhelmed with pre-bookings and we’re confident that the XDiavel will be the cruiser-of -choice for connoisseurs across the country.”

Powered by the new Ducati Testastretta DVT 1262 engine, the XDiavel achieves high torque even at low revs, ensuring fluid power delivery. Even though the maximum torque is achieved at a relatively low 5000 rpm, the engine retains its Ducati character through and through, producing a maximum power of 156 hp and thrilling performance across the rev range.

The XDiavel drives through a 6-speed gearbox, oil-bath clutch with slipper function and, for the first time on a Ducati, a belt-type final transmission. The system ensures reliable performance with reduced maintenance and the fluid power delivery that motorcyclists want from a Cruiser.

The XDiavel’s sophisticated ride-by-wire system enables three riding modes (Sport, Touring and Urban) which give the bike three distinct personalities. Ducati Traction Control (DTC), cornering ABS and the innovative Ducati Power Launch (DPL) further enhance the technology offering on the XDiavel, ensuring high performance and, above all, enhanced safety.

The XDiavel dashboard consists of a TFT screen with four different display modes and the XDiavel S is equipped with a Bluetooth module that lets riders view incoming calls, text messages and music playlists via their smartphones.
