Hero MotoCorp Appoints 11 New Harley-Davidson Dealers in India: Hero MotoCorp has announced that they will set up a dedicated vertical for Harley-Davidson in India. The company will help Harley-Davidson continuing its journey in the Indian market after the American bikemaker announced its exit from India due to declining sales year after year.
The company has appointed Ravi Avalur as the business unit head of the vertical, who was the former Managing Director at Ducati India. The team in the new business vertical will comprise of four other executives from Harley-Davidson along with Dr Pawan Munjal, Chairman & CEO, Hero MotoCorp. Avalur was also the head of strategy and business at engines and engine component manufacturer, Cooper, apart from being the Managing Director at Ducati India.
With the operation of the new vertical, the company is also planning to expand the service, parts, and accessories business beyond the current new dealerships. The company also started the wholesale dispatches of Harley-Davidson products to the dealers from January 18, 2021.
