2018 Hero HF Dawn was recently launched in India for INR 37,400 (ex-showroom Delhi). The entry level commuter was once discontinued but came back into the lineup to rival Bajaj CT100B.
2018 styling updates on the motorcycle includes black headlight casing, suspension components and exhaust. The effect can also be partially seen on its rims and pillion grab-rail.
HF Dawn can now be bought in just Red and Black shade, both carrying minimum number of graphics and styling features. Hero has retained the reliable 97.2cc motor on its 2018 HF Dawn. It can be bought with a kick-starter only.
This air cooled motor is good for 8.2 Bhp at 8000 rpm and 8.05 Nm at 5000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 4-speed gearbox. Hero shares the engine in Splendor and HF Deluxe for India. The new variants from Hero are carrying a different, 110cc engine in place of the older 97.2cc motor.
All of them are equipped with i3S intelligent start stop system while HF Dawn comes without this feature. It basically targets working professionals who are looking for a personal transport medium in order to save time.
As HF Dawn is high on mileage and requires least maintenance, Hero will target rural buyers for their 2018 variant. Remote villages where no service centers exist can benefit the most from this segment of Hero motorcycles. Bajaj CT100B also follows the same principle and sells in good numbers every month.
Both ends on the Hero HF Dawn use drum brakes and 18 inch tyres for easy rough road riding. It weighs just 105 kg and carries a 9.5 liter fuel tank. Ground clearance is quite healthy at 165 mm while wheelbase of 1235 mm supports long seat for ease of riding with a pillion every time.
