2018 Hero Karizma ZMR Dual-Tone Edition Launched @ INR 1.11 Lakh

Hero MotoCorp has launched the 2018 Karizma ZMR Dual-Tone in India for INR 1,10,500 (ex-showroom Delhi). The model is listed on the official website of Hero alongside the standard fuel injected variant of Karizma ZMR with a price difference of INR 2500 between both the bikes.

Hero MotoCorp has earlier discontinued the Karizma brand due to negligible sales and switch from BS3 to BS4 emission norms. After 15 months of discontinuation, the flagship motorcycle has returned to rival Bajaj Pulsar and Honda CBR250R in India. The motorcycle was never formally discontinued as, if that had happened, the present model would have been illegal on the road.

As the government has made ABS mandatory for bikes with this engine size, it seems like Hero classified the Karizma as an earlier model whose production was paused but never permanently halted. The 2018 Karizma ZMR Dual-Tone is now listed on the official website with a complete set of official photos. The motorcycle looks different, offering Black/Yellow livery with huge ZMR moniker on the side fairing.

The upper side of the fuel tank is finished in black while the lower side flaunts yellow on the motorcycle. The trend reverses when seen from the left side. The front fascia of Hero Karizma ZMR comes with black shade on the left and yellow on the right half. Fortunately, the front fender is in a single tone while rear under seat panel also follows the same reverse coloring pattern with black/yellow variation.

2018 Karizma ZMR is powered by a 223cc, single cylinder, oil cooled and fuel injected engine, producing 20 BHP at 8000 rpm and 19.7 Nm at 6500 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The fully faired motorcycle claims a top speed of 129 kph, competing against similarly priced motorcycles like Bajaj Pulsar NS200 and TVS Apache RTR 200 in a healthy manner.

The lack of ABS will still be a question of worry to many as NS200 and RTR 200 offer single and dual channel ABS on their top spec models. The top spec Karizma weighs 157kg and comes with 810mm of seat height.
