The ‘Hero World 2020’ event witnessed the introduction of a 300cc+ Hero adventure motorcycle that is expected to hit production soon. Though the motorcycle’s subframe was partially under the warp, it does look extremely similar to the Hero’s 450RR rally bike that is used by the brand for competing in the Dakar rallies.
Since the primary frame of the motorcycle was not exposed at the event, the motorcycle is expected to feature a tubular trellis chassis that will feature the engine mounted as a stressed member. The suspension duties on the ADV prototype are handled by telescopic forks at the front while the rear has been equipped with a mono-shock unit. The braking department is foreseen by the petal-type disc brakes at either side mated to ByBre-sourced callipers.
The ADV prototype from Hero features a 21-inch tyre at the front while the rear features an 18-inch tyre shod on the spoke wheels. In addition to this, the brand also informed that major components to be equipped on the ADV’s production variant have been already finalised.
The motorcycle is expected to feature a 450cc engine in its rallying disguise though the road-legal variant of the motorcycle is expected to be equipped with an engine ranging between 300cc-400cc. The single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine will be capable of offering optimum performance while at the same time ensure refined power delivery at all rpm levels.
The 300cc+ Hero adventure motorcycle is expected to feature a complete LED headlight setup while the brand is expected to offer it an all-digital instrument console. In addition to this, the motorcycle is expected to feature Bluetooth connectivity as well as the turn-by-turn navigation system that has already been implemented on the Hero Xtreme 200.
Once launched in India, the ADV motorcycle from Hero is expected to get a premium price tag and will compete in the market with the likes of Royal Enfield Himalayan, KTM 390 Adventure and the BMW G310GS.
