2020 BS6 Hero Splendor Plus Starts Reaching Dealerships

The 2020 BS6 Hero Splendor Plus has started reaching dealerships ahead of its official launch in the coming weeks. The carbureted fuel-system of the current-gen model has been replaced by a fuel-injection system on the BS6 model of the bike. We are expecting the 2020 model of Hero Splendor Plus to get a price hike of INR 8000 to INR 10,000. Currently, the BS4 version of the same retails at INR 50,860 (ex-showroom). In terms of design, no major changes have been made apart from a new set of graphics. The BS6 Hero Splendor Plus has a Fi sticker placed on the toolbox of the bike. The brand has also added a small guard near the rear brake lever so that the foot of the rider remains safe.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eGQIyqzzXcc Hero MotoCorp has also equipped the bike with a small catalytic converter to reduce emissions and meet the upcoming BS6 emission norms that will be implemented in the Indian market on April 1, 2020. The instrument cluster on the bike remains exactly the same as the BS4 model except for the 'Engine Check' indicator that will blink if there is any problem in the engine. The BS6 Hero Splendor Plus also gets new dual-tone paint schemes: red and black, silver and black, purple and black, sky blue and grey. Mechanically, the bike will continue with the same 97.2cc air-cooled, four-stroke, single-cylinder engine that is BS6-compliant now. No details have surfaced regarding the power and torque figures of the updated model yet. For reference, the BS4 model of the bike was good enough to produce 8.36HP of maximum power along with 8.05 Nm of peak torque. The output figures for the BS6 engine are expected to be tweaked a little bit while the engine will remain mated to a 4-speed gearbox.
