The 2020 Hero XPulse 200 is powered by a 199.6cc fuel-injected engine that is now BS6-compliant and is capable of churning out a maximum power of 17.8 HP at 8,500 rpm and a peak torque of 16.4 Nm at 6,500 rpm. In its BS4 state, the engine was good for 18.4 HP at 8,000 rpm and 17.1 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The power and torque values offered by the updated engine have been reduced by 0.6 HP and 0.7 Nm respectively.
The brand has further repositioned the header pipe on the updated motorcycle from its actual position near the engine as seen in the BS4 variant of the motorcycle. Now, the pipe goes down below the engine and comes back to meet up with the muffler whose position has not been altered in the BS6 variant. Though the belly pan of the motorcycle is now repositioned to make space for the header pipe, the ground clearance of the motorcycle has not been altered and remains the same at 220mm.
The addition of BS6-compliant features in the motorcycle has increased its kerb weight by a total of 3kgs when compared to the BS4 version. The BS6 Hero XPulse 200 now weighs 157kg when compared to the 154kg of kerb weight of its BS4 counterpart.
