Hero MotoCorp is a world’s largest motorcycle manufacturer and Zero Motorcycles is a premium electric motorcycle and powertrain manufacturer from California. Zero and Hero recently said they intend to collaborate in the business. However, in light of the latest details, the required deals have been inked with a view of new premium electric motorcycles.
For Hero MotoCorp, this collaboration is important if it wants to have a future electric mobility outreach. Each of these companies hopes to change the EV riding life. To enable, also, the faster transition to electric mobility in the domestic as well as global markets. Hero Motocorp has the EV market strength in the brand called VIDA.
The company has launched its first EV, the VIDA V1 scooter, in Bengaluru, Delhi and Jaipur, along with some public charging infrastructure. To date, a total of 300 public charging stations have been installed. In September 2022, Hero MotoCorp’s board of directors were approved for a US$60 million equity investment in Zero Motorcycles. The fact that this collaboration is so important is underscored by this large investment.
The electric vehicle is the future of mobility, say today’s projections. Traditional motorcycle design will run in tandem with the Zero Motorcycles tech so the riding experience remains at the forefront of design synergies. At Hero we are dedicated to developing innovative products that provide exceptional value and riding fun. Spanish electric motorcycle manufacturer Stark Future SL has received a strategic investment by Royal Enfield.
Predicting what mobility will be in a few years will require business fortitude. This represents a big step forward for sustainable clean technology in the mobility space and we are excited to see what comes next in its collaboration with zero and hero. Hero has presence in global markets like India and introducing Zero Motorcycles will definitely hasten the movement to electric mobility.
The scope of this collaboration is in line with that of Hero aiming at rising exports to both existing and new markets.
