Hero Hunk 200R was recently launched in Turkey for 11,199 Turkish Lira (INR 1.91 lakh approx). The progress was made through Motobike Istanbul Exhibition that concluded last month.
Hero MotoCorp and Bajaj Auto are two important participants of this show as both of them retail products in entry level motorcycling segment in various international markets. The pricing for this model was quite surprising as Hero Karizma is priced much lower in Turkey than Hunk 200R.
Basically, this model discussed here is a re-badged version of India spec Xtreme 200R. They have made a single addition by using fuel injection on this motorcycle.
Hero Hunk 200R uses 199cc, single cylinder air cooled engine producing 18.4 HP at 8000 rpm and 17.1 Nm of maximum torque at 6500 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The model offered in Turkey is equipped with single channel ABS as standard while the one listed in India will be available with both non-ABS and ABS option.
For making this thing real, Hero MotoCorp will need to launch the motorcycle before April 1, 2018. Those bikes with bigger engines than a certain limit launched afterwards will need to offer ABS as stock.
The bike could prove to be a revolution in 200cc segment as both Apache RTR 200 and Pulsar NS200 are priced closer to INR 1 lakh. Hero will keep some difference from them for sure. One can safely expect to get the ABS equipped version of Xtreme 200R in the price range of non-ABS models of both brands.
In any case, they won’t cross the INR 1 lakh price for ex-showroom value of the new motorcycle. Turkey spec Fi variant could launch a later stage in India. Shades and other details regarding Xtreme 200R is already official from Hero MotoCorp.
