Hero Impulse Officially Discontinued in India

Hero MotoCorp Impulse was recently discontinued officially as the motorcycle is no more listed on the official website. It was available with certain dealers and now it seems that stock clearance has also ended at maximum locations. It was really very capable but didn’t go well with the commuter specific image of the manufacturer. It was finally removed from production within a short span and focus was shifted to the clearances only.

Impulse was powered by a 149.2 cc, single cylinder engine producing 13.2 PS and 13.4 Nm of torque. Based on the Honda NXR Bros, Hero wanted to launch a powerful version for the same but could not move ahead without permissions from Honda. India is moving to the clean and green BS4 emissions from April 1, 2017 and its discontinuation was a part of this plan to clear the lineup from production halted models.

Hero MotoCorp is soon expected to remove all the models that have been under the scanner from last few months, most probably including Xtreme, Ignitor and Passion xPro. It may even introduce new shades for some of its best selling motorcycles in the coming months. The most awaited Hero HX250R is even in the pipeline as it was showcased around 5 years back before Auto Expo 2014. The lineup changes would be visible in the coming 2 weeks.
