Hero Motocorp has launched the most awaited adventure motorcycle XPulse 200 in India for an ex-showroom price tag of INR 97,000. Those looking for the fuel injected model will need to spend INR 1.05 lakh for the XPulse 200 Fi. Going by the looks, the front of the bike looks muscular with an all-LED headlight and a decently tall visor.
Moreover, the XPulse 200 is equipped with spoked wheels with a 21-inch wheel at the front and 18-inch wheel at the rear. It gets an engine bash plate, a high mounted mudguard and side exhaust for better water-wading capability. The Xpulse 200 also gets a front beak, sump guard, and knuckle guards which enhances its off-road capability.
Mechanically, the bike is powered by a 199.6cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine that generates 18.4 HP of maximum power at 8000 rpm, and 17.1 Nm of peak torque at 6500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission. The bike’s suspension duties are handled by long travel, 37mm telescopic forks up front and a monoshock at the rear. Braking performance of the bike comes from the disc brakes at either end with single channel ABS as standard.
The Hero XPulse 200 gets a fully-digital instrument console which is divided into two parts. Its left side is comparatively bigger in size and displays a speedometer, a tachometer, an odometer, fuel gauge, a trip meter, and a gear shift indicator. While the right side displays clock, date, distance to empty, mileage, Bluetooth connectivity icon, and the console also shows the time taken to reach the destination.
Apart from the values being displayed on the screen, the console area also features LED indicators which shows neutral light, ABS indication, battery indication, and side stand indication. Towards the right side of the console, the brand has given two buttons which are probably for switching the information you want to see on the right part of the screen.
At present, this new adventure bike cannot be compared with any other motorcycle as it has no direct rivalry at this price point. XPulse 200 is surely a one-of-its-kind motorcycle with extreme adventure capabilities. At present, the Royal Enfield Himalayan is the only indirect rival to the XPulse 200.
