Hero Xtreme 160R Test Ride Registrations Open: Hero MotoCorp listed the much-awaited Xtreme 160R street motorcycle on its official website back in March this year but due to the Coronavirus lockdown, the launch got delayed by three months. As per the latest details available, the Xtreme 160R will launch in the coming days and the brand has also commenced the registrations for test rides on its official website.
In terms of design, the aggressive streetfighter styling of the motorcycle is accentuated by a bulky fuel tank design with a sharper rear profile flowing towards the back. In addition to this, the brand has equipped the motorcycle with LED headlight and taillight setup adding to the premium bits while the fuel tank extensions further impart it a muscular outlook. The turn indicators equipped on the Hero Xtreme 160R have also been offered LED lighting while the fully-digital instrument console offers apt riding data.
Powering the motorcycle is a BS6-compliant 160cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine that is capable of offering maximum power of 15HP @ 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 14Nm @ 6,500 rpm. The motorcycle has been equipped with a single-channel ABS as standard while the customers can avail it with a rear disc or drum brake setup.
The suspension duties on the Hero Xtreme 160R are handled by Showa-sourced telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock absorber at the rear. The motorcycle will be available to the customers in three colour schemes namely red, white and blue while the starting price tag is expected to be around INR 90,000 (ex-showroom).
Once launched in India, the motorcycle will compete in the market against the likes of Suzuki Gixxer 155, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Yamaha FZS V3, and the Honda CB Hornet 160R. You can click here for complete specifications of the Hero Xtreme 160R.
