As per the latest details available, Hero will launch their first 200cc bike by March 2018. The bike was showcased @ 2016 Auto Expo in February last year. Hero MotoCorp is simultaneously working on BS4 compliant engines, global expansion and new products in their various research centers. The current hype in 200cc segment due to the entry of affordable machines like Pulsar NS200 and Apache RTR 200 could have forced the entry of world’s largest motorcycle maker into the segment.
Hero Xtreme 200S India Launch by March 2018
Hero Xtreme 200S is actually not that sporty as both the rivals but it still can bring hope with its even more affordable pricing and color schemes. The engine would be air cooled, carburetor fed 200cc unit that is good for 18.34 BHP at 8500 rpm and 17.2 Nm at 6000 rpm. Unlike both the other rivals, it would not generate high amounts of power but would carry ample power at usable rpm levels for ease in everyday and occasional highway riding for rider as well as pillion.
The best part would be the use of front and rear disc brakes while it is even said that Hero MotoCorp will offer ABS as option on the motorcycle. It would use everyday equipment like conventional telescopic forks, digital-analogue instrument console and a new alloy wheel design. The motorcycle will get a price tag that’s lower than that of Apache RTR 200 while Hero will even try to place the ABS model successfully under INR 1 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
