With the emerging trend of entry-level performance bikes in the country these days, Honda also seems to be bringing the next-gen model of the CBR150R. The company has filed a patent for the bike in this regard. After being introduced in the country, the upcoming Honda CBR150R will go up against the Yamaha R15 V4.
Honda officially revealed the new model of the CBR150R sportbike in Indonesia back in 2021 with a starting price tag of Rp. 35,900,000 (INR 1.90 lakhs, direct conversion, approximate). It’s a big upgrade and the brand has equipped the new CBR150R with golden USD front forks in addition to CBR250RR-like twin LED headlights.
The side fairings and some of the other body panels have also received an upgrade to set the 2022 model apart from the last-gen version of the motorcycle. With a sharp front and aerodynamic body panels, the CBR150R is a real race machine. It also takes design cues from its bigger brothers, the CBR500R and CBR650R.
Mechanically, no changes have been made and the New Honda CBR150R continues to be powered by the same 149.1cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-valve engine, which is good for 17.1HP of maximum power and 14.4Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission.
In terms of hardware components, the motorcycle is equipped with a 276mm front disc brake and a 220mm rear disc brake. Honda is offering the new CBR150R in Indonesia in two variants: one with ABS and one without ABS. The suspension duties are handled by USD forks at the front end and a monoshock at the rear end.
The new model continues to feature the same all-digital instrument console as the old-gen model. The new version of the bike is available in five colours: Dominator Matte Black, Matte Black, Victory Black Red, Honda Racing Red, and Orange-White (MotoGP Edition).
