2018 Honda Gold Wing has been officially launched in India starting from INR 26,85,775 (ex-showroom Delhi). For those who are wondering why ‘from’, Honda has launched 2 variants in India by keeping in mind the increasing competition among tourers.
The base variant is here without the iconic backseat while 2018 Honda Gold Wing Tour, as they are promoting the top spec model, comes with INR 28,49,975 (ex-showroom Delhi) worth price tag. Honda has equipped both the variants with 7-speed automatic DCT for ease of long distance riding. It also helps with its walking mode for low speed traffic crawling and tight space parking.
Honda Gold Wing Tour is chrome laden while standard variant comes with black engine bay and components. The engine powering both the models stay the same 1833 cc, six cylinder unit producing 125 HP at 5500 rpm and 170 Nm at 4500 rpm. Fuel tank capacity for both the models stay 21.1 liters.
The Tour version comes with higher placed windscreen and 15 kg of more weight than the standard version. It is even longer by 100 mm, all thanks to the inclusion of rear seat with additional trunk for storage. Seats on the Tour variant are heated while Honda’s Selectable Torque Control is also exclusive to this variant.
Features on both the motorcycles include electronic reverse, Apple CarPlay, riding modes, cruise control, hill start assist, tyre pressure monitoring, heated grips and adjustable electric windscreen. Front suspension is a double wishbone unit with single shock (first time on a Honda) while rear is Pro Link for maximum comfort.
The heavyweight cruiser comes with 6-piston 320 mm disc brakes for the front 130/70 R18 rubber. Rear comes with 200/55 R16 tyre for maximum traction. Honda Goldwing now comes with LED lights and 12V/20AH battery as standard. It comes in just Candy Ardent Red shade in India.
