2019 Honda CBR150R is now official for the Thailand market at 99,000 baht (INR 2.15 lakh approx). The motorcycle features dual-channel ABS and proves itself as the worthy competitor to the Yamaha R15 V3. The powerful motorcycle is available with conventional forks as standard, keeping the cost already under control for the Thai market. However, the biggest benefit Honda could receive from the decent component list will be visible once they plan to bring the 2019 CBR150R to India. The plans are not yet official but, considering their venture into the 300cc segment, the lightweight league (including the new CB150R) stands a chance in the country.
For the Thai market, the motorcycle can be had in Black and Blue/Black shade for the non-ABS and Red/Black as well as Repsol Edition finish for the ABS variant. The front features two impressive LED lights that are inspired by the bigger CBR650R while the full-digital instrument console with impressive visibility raises the level of sophistication for the brand. The front and rear suspension are adjustable, bringing the custom level ride to the most lightweight possible CBR machine for present-gen riders. The engine on the 2019 Honda CBR150R is similar in configuration to the CB150R Streetster.
The exhaust muffler features Kevlar protection while 166mm of ground clearance makes the motorcycle practical for everyday use. For the Indian market, the new CBR150R could prove its worth through these impressive segment-first features. However, the pricing must undercut the new Yamaha R15 V3, which is at present available with an ex-showroom price tag of INR 1,39,350.
