2020 Honda CBR250RR Details and Price Revealed

The price details and the feature list of the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-25R rival, the 2020 Honda CBR250RR have been recently revealed in Japan. In addition to this, a new set of images of the sports bike has also surfaced online. As per the recent reports, the customers would be able to avail the updated motorcycle in the Japanese markets at a price tag of 847,000 yen (INR 5.89 lakh approx).

Coming to the feature updates, the 2020 variant of the sports machine has been equipped with a bi-directional quick-shifter while the brand has also updated the engine with a newly designed piston to extract more power. Like the 2019 model, the 2020 version is also equipped with ride-by-wire technology and the rider can operate the sportbike in three riding modes namely Comfort, Sport and Sport+.

The 249cc engine on the 2020 Honda CBR250RR is now capable of offering maximum power of 41HP which is 3HP higher when compared to the 38HP offered by the last-gen variant. The torque figure of the updated motorcycle variant has not been revealed as of yet though it is expected to be almost similar to the one offered by the last-gen version which stands at 23.3Nm. The engine remains mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

The brand will be availing the motorcycles at the dealerships in three new colour schemes namely Glare White, Matte Black and Grand Prix Red. Apart from the addition of new colour schemes, the design language of the updated sports bike remains almost identical to the last-gen variant, though there are some styling cues borrowed from its elder siblings like CBR650R and CBR1000RR Fireblade.

The 2020 Honda CBR250RR is expected to be launched in Indonesia next though there has been no official launch date finalised yet. The probability of the motorcycle to make it to the Indian shores remains thin to the date as with the hefty price tag, Honda won’t be able to sell it in good numbers in the Indian market.

As per one of the recent updates, Honda India is further expected to offer a BS6-compliant engine to the CBR250R in the coming months. The BS4-compliant variant of the motorcycle has been already discontinued by the brand as the new emission norms will be valid across the country from April 1, 2020.
