The 2020 Honda CBR400R sports bike has been officially unveiled in Japan for 808,500 Yen (INR 5,61,625, approximate, direct conversion). In comparison to the 2019 model, the only change the 2020 model has got is in the form of a new ”CBR” logo on the fairing which now resembles the CBR logo on the 2020 Honda CBR1000RR-R.
The 2020 variant continues to be available in three shades: Grand Prix Red, Pearl Glare White, and Matt Axis Gray Metallic. In terms of design, the 400cc Honda sportbike is heavily inspired by the litre-class CBR1000RR-R, flaunting dual headlights, sharp fairing and wider front fairing with a bubble visor.
The 2020 Honda CBR400R is powered by the same liquid-cooled 399cc 2-cylinder engine, producing 46 HP of maximum power at 9000 rpm and a peak torque of 38 Nm at 7500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The company-claimed mileage figure for the motorcycle stands at 28.3 kmpl.
The motorcycle features a 120/70-ZR17 front tyre and a 160/60-ZR17 rear tyre. In terms of dimensions, the sports bike has a wheelbase of 1410mm, 130mm of ground clearance, and 785mm of practical seat height while the kerb weight of the 2020 Honda CBR400R stands at 192 kgs.
As of now, Honda has no plans to launch the CBR400R in the Indian market. The Japanese brand is rather planning to launch the CBR500R, Rebel 500, CB500F, and the CB500X in the Indian market by the end of this year or in early next year.
