2020 Honda Rebel 300 and Rebel 500 Cruiser Bikes Unveiled

The Japanese conglomerate Honda has officially revealed the 2020 variants of its entry-level cruisers, Honda Rebel 300 and Rebel 500 at the public appearance eve of the EICMA 2019. Both the motorcycles have been adorned with a host of new updates making them stand apart from their last-gen variants while improving the functionality and riding statistics to offer a better ownership experience.

Coming to the front fascia, both the Honda motorcycles now feature an LED headlight set up. The all-new headlight cluster is now more aligned towards the handlebar while the parallel LED units placed inside adds to its modern outlook. In terms of the rear tail light, the brand has also fabricated it to a rather smaller unit while all the four turn indicators now feature a retro round design.

The single-seat saddle offered to the 2020 Honda Rebel 300 and Rebel 500 now features extra padding and is much thicker for additional comfort while the seat height remains the same at 690mm. The LCD instrument console seen on the previous-gen models has also been updated to display the fuel consumption stats in addition to displaying the gear position. The fatter tyres at either end have been retained for both the 2020 Honda Rebel 300 and Rebel 500.

Powering the 2020 Honda Rebel 500 is the same 471cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine while the 286cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine for the 2020 model of the Rebel 300 has also been retained. Both the engines continue to be mated with a 6-speed transmission. The new slipper and assist clutch offered to both the motorcycle variants reduces the effort required at the clutch lever by a whole 30% in addition to improving the riding ergonomics.

The suspension setup continues to be equipped with the same 41mm non-adjustable forks at the front though tweaked to offer new internal buffing and oil level for smoother riding. The rear of the motorcycles features the same spring-preload adjustable shocks.

Both the motorcycles have been equipped with Euro-5 compliant engines. The 2020 Honda Rebel 300 and Rebel 500 are expected to hit the US market sometime in the next year though, there is no official confirmation on their availability in the Indian markets as of yet.
