The 2021 Honda CBR250RR has been officially unveiled in Japan with a starting price tag of JPY 8,21,700 (INR 5.79 lakh, approximate). This price tag is for the Matte Gun Power Black Metallic, Pearl Glare White, and Grand Prix Red colour schemes. Honda is also offering the 2021 model of the CBR250RR in Grand Prix Red with stripes at a price tag of JPY 8,54,700 (INR 6.02 lakh, approximate). The updated model will go on sale in the Japanese markets from 18th September this year.
Apart from the addition of new colour schemes, the design language of the updated sports bike remains almost identical to the last-gen variant, though there are some styling cues borrowed from its elder siblings like CBR650R and CBR1000RR Fireblade.
Coming to the feature updates, the 2021 variant of the Honda CBR250RR has been equipped with an optional bi-directional quick-shifter while the brand has also updated the engine with a newly designed piston to extract more power. Like the last-gen model, the new version is also equipped with ride-by-wire technology and the rider can operate the sportbike in three riding modes namely Comfort, Sport and Sport+.
The updated 249cc, DOHC, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine is now good for 41HP of maximum power at 13,000 rpm along with a peak torque of 25Nm at 11,000 rpm. In comparison, the old model was capable to generate 38HP of power at 12,500 rpm and 23Nm of torque at 11,000 rpm. The bike remains equipped with a 6-speed gearbox which has now been further mated to an assist and slipper clutch as standard.
At present, Honda has no plans to launch the CBR250RR sportbike in the Indian market though, the brand may consider the same at a later stage in future.
