BS6 Honda CB300R Streetfighter to Launch in India Soon: Honda 2-Wheelers India initially launched the BS4-compliant CB300R back in 2019 with an ex-showroom price tag of INR 2.41 lakhs and the motorcycle got discontinued in April 2020 due to the implementation of BS6 emission norms.
Now after a gap of more than one year, the Japanese brand is planning to launch the BS6-compliant model of CB300R in the Indian markets very soon. As per one of the recent media reports, Honda dispatched 8 units of the streetfighter in April 2021 to its BigWing dealerships. In terms of pricing, the updated model would be getting to get a slight price hike and is expected to launch with an ex-showroom price of around INR 2.50 lakhs.
In terms of looks, no changes are expected and the BS6-compliant model of CB300R will continue to feature CB1000R-inspired styling, proving its worth through lightweight body, retro-modern design lines and premium equipment on use. CB300R features a huge exhaust, LED headlight and taillight, 2-channel ABS and many other features as standard.
Mechanically, no major changes are expected except for the up-gradation to meet BS6 emission norms. To jog your memory, the BS4-compliant model was powered by a 286cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, which was good for 31 bhp at 8500 rpm and 27.5 Nm at 7500 rpm. The engine would continue to be mated to a 6-speed gearbox. When launched, the BS6 Honda CB300R would be competing with the likes of KTM Duke 390, BMW G310R, and the CFMoto 300NK.
