7 Must-Know Facts About the Upcoming Honda CBR650R

Honda CBR650R was one among the amazing machines displayed at the EICMA 2018. Based on the India-spec CBR650F, the motorcycle has been officially listed on the Honda India website. The updated model is expected to carry an ex-showroom price tag of around INR 8 lakh in India. The list of differences is huge this time, enhancing the visual as well as riding nature of the motorcycle. Here are seven must-know facts for the 2019 Honda CBR650R.

7 Must-Know Facts About Honda CBR650R

1) Twin Headlight Design

The twin headlight design is inspired by the litre-class CBR1000RR, leaving behind the old single headlight design that looked more like a faired version of some street machine. The face offers bubble visor, impressive three-tone finish and twin LED headlight design on the motorcycle. The headlights are paired with two air intakes.

2) R Moniker

The R moniker used here makes CBR650R the most valuable machine at its price point. The same underpinnings were earlier sold under the F moniker that generally brings faired versions of street machines from Honda. The added performance bits into the motorcycle proves the R legacy with pride.

3) Minimal Fairing

The reduction in fairing is one more point to be noted on the new CBR650R. The engine is almost visible, showing how neatly Honda connected the fairing with the headlight area to maximize air-flow into the heated section. The heat escapes the area with ease and brings better performance on the track.

4) Aggressive Riding Position

Honda has made several notable changes to the sitting position of the rider on the new CBR650R. The handlebar is now lower-placed while footpegs are a bit rear mounted, resulting in an aggressive riding position. The angle is strict in comparison to the regular bikes but mild when compared to a proper track bike.

5) Smart Exhaust

The four-into-one exhaust system on the CBR650R is smarter than all others available in this segment. The unit is short, well placed and looks perfect on a 650cc bike. The use of under-seat or full-sized exhaust could have ended the exclusivity factor for Honda CBR650R.

6) Improved Engine Response

Honda claims better engine response between idle and 8000 rpm for the CBR650R. It comes with an inline-4 motor, producing 5% of more power than the existing model with F moniker. The reduction in weight results in 6 kg lighter motorcycle, helping improve the power-to-weight ratio by 8%.

7) Modern Console

The old console from CBR650F makes way for this coloured LCD on the CBR650R. The unit now comes with gear position indicator, gear upshift indicator, rpm peak-hold display and engine temperature indicator.
