Honda Motorcycles India is working on a new Full-Faired Honda CB Hornet 160R that may launch at the Auto Expo 2018. IndianAutosBlog has released a very neat rendered image of the upcoming bike and the final production model could look pretty close to this image.
At present, Suzuki Gixxer SF is the most-affordable full-faired bike in India priced around INR 90,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). Gixxer SF is based on the naked Gixxer 155 and Honda wants to repeat the same success story by bringing an affordable full-faired sport bike priced around Rs 95,000 (ex-showroom).
The new sport bike is expected to be powered by the same 162.71cc single-cylinder engine, which generates maximum power of 15.04 BHP @ 8500 rpm and develops maximum torque of 14.76 Nm @ 6500 rpm. The engine would be mated to a 5-speed transmission.
Fully Faired Honda CB Hornet 160R would be equipped with the same all-digital instrument console as seen on the CB Hornet 160R. Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India recently updated their official website. Still, the older CBR duo was missing with the latest update.
Most reports hint at the launch of CBR150R at Auto Expo 2018. Some rumors also suggest that Honda might even replace the CBR250R with CBR300R in India, leaving behind the 150cc slot empty for upcoming Yamaha R15 V3. Still, one entry level CBR is better than getting nothing under the mighty CBR650F in India.
The updated models will be available in new shades and all new international design languages. Honda fans will get disappointed if they miss out on these important products this Auto Expo. As sales for higher capacity motorcycles are rising day by day, absence of Honda from INR 90,000 to INR 5 lakh price bracket is raising a huge number of questions among die-hard fans.
