Honda CB Twister was a well-known name for premium 110cc commuter fans of India. Honda discontinued the model to make way for the all-new Livo in the Indian market. If certain reports circulating in the industry are to be believed, Honda may launch the CB Twister 125 in India next year.
Honda can bring this model to take on the likes of the recently launched Bajaj Pulsar 125. Honda CB125F is expected to be renamed as Twister 125 for India as that saves a lot from R&D cost and potentially, could also share parts with other bikes around this segment.
The sportier body design of the CB Twister 125 will help buyers get away from the typical commuter-friendly face of the CB Shine series and may also attract buyers who were planning to go for a 150cc commuter motorcycle like the Bajaj Pulsar 150 Neon.
The Honda CB125F is a mild street bike as it comes with Livo style tank extensions but offers a better front fascia with minimal fairing and streetfighter style sharp tail end. Honda offers a basic tachometer, speedometer and fuel indicator in terms of the instrument console.
Honda CB Twister 125 is expected to be powered by a 124.7cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine, which also powers the CB Shine SP. It will get a 5-speed gearbox while the power and torque figures are expected to improve in comparison to CB Shine’s 10.16 Bhp and 10.30 Nm respectively.
The new 125cc motorcycle is expected to weigh less and thus, will perform more aggressively than other 125cc bikes of India. Honda is already leading in the 125cc segment with CB Shine, Grazia and Activa 125 bringing big sales numbers to the brand. The CB Twister 125 is expected to be priced around INR 70,000 (ex-showroom). Honda may showcase the motorcycle at the Auto Expo in February 2020.
