A recent report in the automotive segment claims that the premium version of the Honda Unicorn series is about to get discontinued. The CB Unicorn 160 was once a popular model but every previous sales record confirms that buyers prefer the 150cc version or went forward to get the new xBlade and even CB Hornet 160R in India. The reason for zero units in sales chart could also be the limited or no production status for the motorcycle. Honda is yet to offer ABS for the Unicorn 160 and it seems like it will be discontinued in place of making an addition. The 1-channel ABS is optional on Unicorn 150, xBlade and CB Hornet.
Soon, the Hornet will be seen in just two variants while xBlade will be limited to one. Also, the non-ABS CBR250R will be discontinued. Honda Unicorn 160 uses a 162.71cc engine that was first shared by the Hornet in a different state of tune. Here, the engine is good for 13.82 BHP at 8000 rpm and 13.92 Nm at 6000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The refined motor claims around 45-50 kmpl of mileage on the Unicorn 160. The top speed is limited to 106 kmph due to more emphasis on mileage. The commuter-spec motorcycle comes with 80/100 front and 110/80 rear tyres.
The front disc brake is 240mm on the Unicorn 160. The standard variant costs INR 75,566 while the one with CBS comes for INR 78,014. If Honda changes the plan and continues the retail process for CB Unicorn 160, it will be available in one variant with single channel ABS and can get an expected price hike of INR 7,000. Honda Unicorn 160 is currently listed in Matte Marvel Blue Metallic, Pearl Igneous Black, Matte Axis Grey, Pearl Amazing White, and Imperial Red Metallic. The motorcycle is available with a digital console and rear monoshock.
