Meet Honda CB150R Streetster: The Perfect Yamaha MT-15 Rival

Back in 2019, Honda launched a graphically upgraded version of the CB150R ExMotion by the name CB150R Streetster. The bike is available in Thailand at an effective price tag of 99,800 baht (INR 2.24 lakh, approximate). If or whenever launched in India, the sports-themed motorcycle will fall under the premium 150cc series and would be competing in the market with the likes of Yamaha MT-15. The Honda CB150R Streetster is offered in the Thai market with three colour options: Ivory White, Night Fire Red, and Speedway Matt Black.

Coming to the upgraded design, the fuel tank exhibits a more muscular look with a graphic stripe running across it while the red brake callipers add onto its distinctive stance. The Honda Streetster features “150 stickers” under the rear seat while gets a round LED headlight with a shorter tail section and an LED taillight.

The engine and the exhaust are balanced at the centre while the 296mm front disc brake and the 220mm rear disc brake are petal-type and are equipped with ABS with G-sensor as standard. The suspension duties are handled by 41mm USD forks at the front that has been given a golden colour combination.

The 150mm wide rear tyre offers better stability and maximum grip over every terrain and at the same time gives the CB150R Streetster a rather rugged look. Powering the new Honda Streetster is a 149cc, DOHC, 4-valve, liquid-cooled engine, mated to a 6-speed transmission.

The street motorcycle is good for a maximum power of 16.1 HP @ 9500 rpm along with a maximum torque of 13.6 Nm @ 8000 rpm. The motorcycle features a lightweight swingarm that has been designed well and gives a premium look in comparison to the traditional options.

All-Digital Instrument Console

The CB150R Streetster gets a multifunctional LCD instrument console with all digital parameters. With a muscular design language, the Honda CB150R will give tough competition to the Yamaha MT-15 and KTM 125 Duke. As of now, Honda has no plans to launch the CB150R in India though, the brand may consider it at a later stage, maybe in 2022.
