According to recent reports, the Honda CBR250R is all-set to be discontinued in the Indian market in the coming days. The brand launched India’s first affordable global sports bike back in 2011 in a BS3 avatar while the motorcycle was upgraded to BS4 emission norms back in 2018. Since now the BS6 emission norms will be valid in the country from April 1, 2020, the production of the motorcycle has been officially discontinued by the brand and the motorcycle will not be updated with a BS6-compliant engine.
The Honda CBR250R will not be available across dealerships from next month while the customers can still get their hands on the BS4 variant of the sports bike before March 31, 2020, only if the stock remains at the dealerships. The CBR250R was offered a BS4 engine update in 2018 in addition to getting two new colour schemes as well as an LED headlight setup.
In recent times, the motorcycle has been unable to get major audience support due to the lack of features in comparison to the latest 250cc sportbikes like the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250. The almost negligible demand of the motorcycle has forced the brand to discontinue the sports machine and not offer it a BS6-compliant engine.
