While India awaits the all-new CBR250RR, Honda has launched the 2-cylinder sport bike in Japan for JPY 756,000 (INR 4,49,500 approx). The top spec motorcycle with 2-channel ABS can be bought for JPY 8,28,360 (INR 4,92,500 approx). The motorcycle promises sheer performance through its lightweight body and powerful engine with ride by wire technology. CBR250RR is already on-sale in Indonesia and Honda would be launching the bike in a phased manner in rest of the world. Sadly, Honda has no plans to launch the CBR250RR in India and they might consider it for India in 2018 @ Auto Expo in February next year.
Honda CBR250RR Officially Launched in Japan
The Honda CBR250RR carries much more features than any other bike in its segment. It is powered by a 249.7 cc, twin cylinder, liquid cooled and fuel injected engine producing 38.2 Bhp @ 12,500 rpm and 23.3 NM @ 11,000 rpm. The gearbox used is a 6-speed manual unit while the motorcycle weighs just 165 kg for the non-ABS variant. It uses 310 mm front disc brake while the rear disc measure 240 mm. The ABS variant weighs 3 kg over the regular CBR250RR, making it 168 kg when measured with fluids and fuel. CBR250RR gets three riding modes (Sport, Comfort and Sport+) and the speedometer indicated top speed of the bike is around 179 kmph.
CBR250RR measures 2060 mm in length, 724 mm in width and 1098 mm in height. The wheelbase stands at 1389 mm while the fuel tank measures 14.5 liters. The ground clearance is neat 145 mm while the 790 mm of moderate seat height makes it easy for short riders to control the bike. The front tyre measures 110/70-17 while the rear is 140/70-17. Honda CBR250RR carries USD front forks and a fully digital instrument console. Honda has launched the bike in 3 shades in Japan: Matte Gun Powder Black Metallic, Sword Silver Metallic and Victory Red. Honda Japan is hoping to sell 3,500 units in the first year.
