The motorcycle is available in Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic and Grand Prix Red shades in India. The 649cc, four-cylinder engine on the motorcycle is good for 87.2 HP of maximum power at 11,500 rpm and 60.1 Nm of maximum torque at 8,000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
The new Honda CBR650R weighs 210kg and offers a repositioned handlebar for an aggressive riding position. The 15.4-litre fuel tank helps the sports bike achieve a practical everyday range. Honda first launched the CB300R in India through 23 locations and adding the new BigWing dealer to the list took the total number of superbike dealerships to 24. The ex-showroom launch price of INR 7.70 lakh for the CBR650R places the same against no direct rival. However, most fans are comparing the same with the Kawasaki Ninja 650.
