Honda CBR650R Launched in India @ INR 7.70 Lakh

Honda has launched the much awaited CBR650R in the Indian market for INR 7.70 lakh (ex-showroom). It is a worthy replacement for the aged CBR650F. Even though the motorcycle has undergone a big change with noticeable differences, the dedicated specs of a sports motorcycle are alive for sure. The Honda CBR650R is powered by a DOHC, 16-valve, four-cylinder, 649cc engine which puts out 87 HP of peak power and 60.1 Nm of torque.

The bike is equipped with dual-channel ABS, dual LED headlights and stylish alloy wheels. The fuel tank capacity of the bike is 15.4 litres, bringing a good amount of range for a sportbike of its class. The top speed of CBR650R is around 220 kmph, and the total weight reduction in comparison to the older model is 6 kg.

Recently, Honda has announced the establishment of its first BigWing showroom in Gurugram. The newly-launched CBR650R will be seen on the grounds of the BigWing dealership and soon, the number of dealerships for the middleweight tourer may increase in India. Other than that, this sports bike is also available at Honda’s 22 Wing World dealerships. The starting period for the deliveries has not been revealed yet.

Honda India is currently staying low on the production front as they are facing inventory issues with their dealers. However, the CBR650R will be made on order as the local assembly may not take a long time once a pre-decided booking number is received. The powerful motorcycle rivals Kawasaki Ninja 650 indirectly while no direct rival with a fully faired body and four-cylinder engine exists in India. The ex-showroom price tag of INR 7.70 lakh is almost INR 32,000 higher than the price of CBR650F.
