According to the recent buzz, the 2019 Honda CBR650R has been sold out in India while the brand has put the bookings on hold. Launched in April 2019 at a price tag of INR 7.70 lakh (ex-showroom), the BS4 variant of the motorcycle was made available in the country though, the next phase of the launch is expected to feature a BS6-compliant variant of the motorcycle. Initially unveiled at the EICMA 2018 in Italy, the Honda CBR650R was made available to the Indian market in Grand Prix Red & Gunpowder Black Metallic colour options.
The CBR650R replaced the previously available CBR650F in brand’s portfolio while retains the styling bits of its elder sibling, the Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade. The motorcycle features a complete LED setup upfront in addition to featuring an LED Taillight. The brand has equipped the motorcycle with an LCD instrument panel.
Powering the Honda CBR650R is a 649cc inline four-cylinder, 16-valve, DOHC engine that is capable of generating a maximum power of 87.2HP @ 11,500 rpm and a peak torque of 60.1Nm @ 8,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox while the disc brake setup at either end is mated to a dual-channel ABS unit for additional safety.
