As per the latest details available, the deliveries for the 2020 Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin Adventure Sports have been commenced in the Indian market. The brand recently delivered the first bike at its Gurgaon showroom.
The adventure motorcycle was launched in India back on March 5, 2020, with an ex-showroom price tag of INR 15.35 lakh for the manual version and INR 16.10 lakh for the DCT gearbox model. The 2020 version of the Africa Twin comprises of a number of unique features which is due to a large number of changes that it underwent in comparison to the last-gen CRF1000L model.
For instance, the changes that the model got are in the subframe which now has an aluminium touch and is also detachable. The frame has also been improved to make it more sturdy while the pivoted fork is now lighter in weight. The 2020 Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin has been equipped with a new powerful 1084cc parallel-twin engine.
The engine is slim in design and is packed with all-new technology. With this amazing displacement bump, the new model of the Honda Africa Twin is able to generate 7% more torque and also 6% more peak power. The updated 2-cylinder engine is in accordance with the Euro5/BS6 emission norms. The new model is capable to generate a maximum power of 102HP with a peak torque of 105Nm. Like the last-gen model, the 2020 model is also available with 2 gearbox options: manual and DCT.
In comparison to the standard model of the Africa Twin, the all-new adventure sports model has got a 25-litre fuel tank, a protective bodywork, a height-adjustable windscreen and also standard engine bash plate. The 1084cc engine has a compression ratio of 10.1:1. The 2020 Honda Africa Twin CRF1100L’s manual transmission engine is comparatively 2.5kgs lighter in comparison to the last-gen model whereas the automatic dual-clutch transmission engine is 2.2kgs lighter.
The new model of the adventure motorcycle is equipped with a 6.5-inch TFT touch-screen display which also comes with support for Apple CarPlay. The 2020 Africa Twin comprises of 43mm throttle body which controls the amount of air intake and allows it to happen smoothly. The ECU or an electronic control unit controls a series of actuators on an internal combustion engine which helps in optimal engine performance which has also been improved on the 2020 model.
