The Japanese multinational brand, Honda Motor Company has recently showcased the all-new CT125 moped concept at the 46th annual edition of the Tokyo Motor Show. The moped is specifically based on the Honda Super Cub 125’s production variant, which was initially debuted by the brand in June 2018. Coming to the design language, the Honda CT125 features authentic moped styling bits with a host of other unique features setting it apart from the rest of the mopeds currently running across the world.
The concept variant features a high-set exhaust unit which offers it a rather distinctive appeal while the brand has equipped the moped with a single-pod instrument console mounted at the centre of the braced handlebar unit. In addition to this, the turn indicators have been positioned at either side of the handlebar while the brand has equipped the Honda CT125 with a single piece saddle mated to a spacious luggage rack at the place of the pillion seat.
Honda has equipped the moped with sturdy hardware making it perfect to ride on off-road conditions. The brand has set the all-new CT125 concept apart from the Super Cub 125 by offering a set of spoke wheels, which has been mated to dual-purpose tyres that replace the alloy wheels seen on the Super Cub variant.
Powering the CT125 is a 124cc single-cylinder engine, borrowed from the Honda Super Cub. The engine is capable of generating a maximum power figure of 9.38HP and a peak torque of 10.4Nm. The suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks at the front while the rear features dual shock absorbers.
The moped features disc brakes at either end mated to single-channel ABS as standard. Honda will be debuting the production variant of CT125 in the coming months though, the brand is unlikely to launch it in the Indian market.
