Honda Monkey 125 with USD Forks & ABS Officially Unveiled

Honda Monkey 125 was first seen few months back at Tokyo Motor Show. The unique machine has now been officially unveiled in its production form. More than that, Honda Japan has launched the same for 3,99,600 Yen (INR 2.45 lakh approx) in their home market.

Monkey 125 claims 71 kmpl of mileage when ridden at 60 kmph. The 124cc engine is equipped with fuel injection and four speed gearbox for smoothest possible ride out of all other bikes in this segment. They offer 12 inch wheels with thick tyres and dual sides rear suspension like a typical motorcycle.

Front uses USD forks while Monkey underpins a rigid backbone frame. Both ends are offered with disc brakes while front and rear tyre differs slightly in overall width. Honda uses 120 section front and 130 section rear tyre for Monkey 125. Fuel tank used here measures 5.6 liters.

The 124cc engine is good for 9.4 PS at 7000 rpm and 11 Nm at 5250 rpm. The compact size can be well understood with 1710 mm of overall length, 755 mm of decent width and just 1030 mm of height. Wheelbase measures just 1155 mm for Honda Monkey 125.

Even after being compact sized, Monkey 125 weighs 105 kg and offers 775 mm of seat height. Minimum ground clearance is rated at 160mm, making it equally capable to some motorcycles with much larger size. ABS is offered as standard while front light used here feels like a smaller version of Ducati Monster with similar finish.

Tail light on use is also LED while instrument console is an all digital unit with indicators on the outer ring. Seat offered on Monkey 125 is perfectly ribbed while a unique old Honda wing can be seen placed on both sides of its fuel tank.
