Honda has launched the 50th Anniversary model for its Monkey Z50M in Japan. The first bike in the Monkey lineup was launched back in 1967. It gets a unique Honda emblem and Pearl Sunbeam White shade. Honda Monkey is powered by 49 cc, air cooled, fuel injected engine producing 3.4 PS at 8500 rpm and 3.4 Nm at 5000 rpm. It comes mated to four speed gearbox. As per the claims by Honda, Monkey 50th Anniversary can return around 100 kmpl mileage at a constant speed of 30 kmph.
Honda Monkey 50th Anniversary Edition Launched in Japan
Honda Monkey weighs just 68 kg and gets a ground clearance of 145 mm. 50th Anniversary Edition measures 1365 mm in length, 850 mm in height and 600 mm in width. It carries an accessible seat height of just 660 mm. The same has been priced at JPY 3,52,080 (INR 2.07 lakh, approximate). Honda Japan plans to sell 1800 units for this special edition model in Japan.
It comes with thick tyres on its 8 inch wheels while its iconic sitting posture made the Monkey famous among the masses. The fuel tank stripe, swing-arm, front suspension and rear suspension is finished in Magna Red while front fender, fuel tank and rear fender gets Shasta White shade. This specific model gets 50th Anniversary logo on side cover, back side of the seat and main key.
