According to recent rumours, Honda is expected to be working towards the production of an all-new CBR600RR-R sportbike. The motorcycle variant is expected to be resurrected by the brand three years after it discontinued the CBR600RR under its portfolio due to the Euro 4 emission standards kicking in.
Since the 600cc middleweight supersport segment is flourishing across the world with the Yamaha YZF-R6 and the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R witnessing decent sales, Honda plans on relaunching the CBR600RR to get itself ahead of its competitors in the same segment as well as cater to the declining overall sales.
Coming to the design language, the rumours suggest that the upcoming Honda CBR600RR-R would be taking inspiration from the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade which is a powerful sports machine. One can further expect the motorcycle to be aerodynamically efficient with the addition of fine design elements on the body panels.
Though there has been no information revealed on the power and torque figures, one can expect the upcoming motorcycle to offer optimum performance in its segment. In addition to this, the motorcycle is further expected to feature a premium electronic package to set it apart from its competitors. Like most of the new-gen sportbikes, the CBR600RR-R will also come equipped with an all-digital instrument console.
The new Honda CBR600RR-R is expected to be powered by an upgraded version of the CBR600RR’s 599cc, liquid-cooled, inline, four-cylinder engine while one can safely assume it to meet the current Euro 5/BS6 emission standards. The upcoming motorcycle variant is further expected to feature 41mm premium upside down (USD) telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock unit at the rear.
The CBR600RR-R is expected to be available to the customers in international markets in two colour schemes namely Metallic Black and Honda Racing Red. The rumours further suggest that the all-new Honda Supersports bike will be officially teased by the brand by the end of 2020 or at the 2020 EICMA motorcycle show in November, though there has been no official confirmation received on the same.
