As per the latest details available, Honda is planning to launch an all-new 160cc bike in India. The upcoming 160cc motorcycle may outplace the XBlade 160 or be sold alongside it. This news has been confirmed by Honda’s MD & CEO of the Indian region.
The audience might have understood by now that the scenario has moved towards the 150cc motorcycle segment. There are broadly two major sections which have been generated. The commuter 150cc bikes and the premium 150cc bikes (R15 is in a different department altogether).
Usually, every main manufacturer has one or more items with which they slug it out for a pie. It means there is a lot of competition out there. Though Honda has got a very important seller in the form of the Unicorn 160 in the commuter segment, yet it has not been able to perform much in the premium space.
Moreover, XBlade 160 is one of the lowest sellers in the Indian 2-wheeler market. In the initial three months of this financial year, the Honda brand managed to sell only 3,193 units. This record of the sale of this motorcycle from its dealers is presented by SIAM.
Also, after the trial of a variety of tactics, Honda is now ready to announce the launch of a fresh 160cc motorcycle in the Indian region. Furthermore, Atsushi Ogata (the Managing Director of Honda Motorcycle Of The Indian Region) has confirmed the good news to the press.
According to this news given to a newspaper, they are working on a new 160cc variant, which would be a premium offering to compete with motorcycles like the TVS Apache RTR 160 and the Bajaj Pulsar NS160. As far as the launch is concerned, the new model will be announced sometime in the next year only.
