Honda CB300R Beats CBR250R in India (Sales Report): Honda CB300R, one of the decently-priced bikes in its segment, has outsold the CBR250R, the mainstay of its space in the same segment. Though Honda officials have reported that the CB300R has been sold out for the coming few weeks, one can easily believe in the lack of production plan for their highly appreciated motorcycle.
Being able to scale a total of 80 units in June 2019, the Honda CB300R sales have surpassed the CBR250R which was able to clock only 51 units in June this year. The lack of decreasing enthusiasm in the fans for the latter is due to the disability of the brand to give a worthy update to the 250cc motorcycle.
The brand might be able to compensate for the loss in the sales of the Honda CBR250R with a better sales figure of the CB300R but still, these two are the lowest selling motorcycles in the INR 2-3 lakh segment in the Indian market. Directly competing with the RE 650 twins, Ninja 300, BMW G310R, TVS Apache RR 310, Bajaj Dominar 400, and the KTM 390 Duke, the sales of CBR250R and CB300R have been disappointing.
Coming to the solution, Honda can initially plan to solve the production constraints of its best-selling motorcycles by shifting capacity or workforce. They can also import more CKD units of the CB300R to make it available across the major population. The brand can also focus on the much-needed update for the Honda CBR250R, which is still considered as one of the most reliable and refined sportbikes in its segment.
