The Wait is Over! 2022 Honda CB300R is Coming to India Soon
Honda has officially unveiled the 2022 CB300R at the latest edition of the India Bike Week on the 4th of this month. As expected, this Neo Sports Cafe motorcycle will be produced in India and will be launched in January 2022. According to the reports, it has been launched with subtle mechanical changes and is now finally BS6 compliant.
Earlier, the bike wasn’t complying with the BS6 norms, it was removed by the company from its website and from that moment there was no official sign of its launch in the market and was expected to use an updated version of the earlier 286cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine.
With the BS4 compliance, this motorcycle’s engine was capable of generating 30 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 27.4 Nm of max torque at 6,500 rpm in collaboration with a 6-speed transmission.
Talking about the 286cc engine, it is a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, DOHC petrol engine with computer-controlled digital transistorized ignition with electronic advance. The power and torque output ranges of the BS6 engine might oscillate in the same range as of BS4.
The braking system comprises a 296mm front disc with a 4-piston radial-mounted calliper and a 220mm rear disc along with a dual-channel ABS unit. The suspension setup packs 37mm front forks with 4.65 inches travel and Pro-Link single shock with five positions of spring preload adjustability at the rear end. Honda would be offering the new CB300R in two colour options, Matte Steel Black and Pearl Spartan Red.
Talking about the price, the updated BS6-compliant model is expected to get a slight price hike of around Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000. For your reference, before being discontinued, the BS4 version of Honda CB300R was available with an ex-showroom price tag of Rs 2.42 lakhs.
