2018 Honda CB150R Streetfire Launched in Indonesia

With prices starting from IDR 2,67,50,000 on-road (around INR 1.27 lakh), Astra Honda Motor has launched the all-new 2018 Honda CB150R Streetfire in Indonesia. This bike will be available in two different editions, a standard one and a special one.

When compared to its previous currently outgoing model, there are a lot of cosmetic upgrades on the CB150R Streetfire. For instance, the bike gets a new bikini fairing, and extended tank shrouds, which partially cover the trellis frame of the bike. There are no upgrades or changes made to the engine of the bike. The other changes on the bike from the previous model include a more aerodynamic tail section cowl, which now sports holes, and the bolt-on cast aluminium foot pegs and mounts.

The handlebar on the 2018 Streetfire is broader and taller than before. This makes the riding experience more comfortable. While there is no ABS on the bike, there are disc brakes on both ends, with a 276mm disc on the front and a 220mm disc at the rear.

On the special edition, there is an engine belly cover which comes equipped, while it is an option on the standard model. Both the bikes are powered by the 149.16cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine which puts out a maximum power of 16.8 hp at 9,000 rpm and a peak torque of 13.8 Nm at 7,000 rpm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The standard edition comes in two colour options, Wild Black and Macho Black, while the special edition, which is IDR 11,00,000 (around INR 5200) more expensive than the standard version, comes in three paint schemes, Honda Racing Red, Fury Matte Red and Raptor Matte Black.

The Honda CB150R will butt heads with the Yamaha Vixion, the Suzuki GSX-S150, and the upcoming Suzuki Bandit 150. The company plans to sell 95,000 units of the bikes combined annually.
