According to recent reports, Husqvarna Motorcycles, a subsidiary of KTM AG is all set to enter the Indian market this week. The Husqvarna bikes which include the Svartpilen 401 and the Vitpilen 401 will be brought to India via Bajaj Auto in partnership with the Austrian brand KTM. The motorcycles will be available to the Indian customers through the existing KTM dealership network.
Commenting on the launch of the series of new products in December 2019, Rakesh Sharma, Executive Director, Bajaj Auto Ltd stated – “A series of new product launches will be seen as soon as the transition period from BS4 to BS6 will come to an end. Husqvarna’s bikes will be launched in the first week of December and it will be available for retail sales from January or February.”
Coming to the motorcycles, the upcoming Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 features a cafe racer design language while the Svartpilen 401 gets a scrambler outlook. The India-spec models of both the motorcycles are expected to feature almost identical body panels with a longer pillion seat plus the bikes will also get a rear grab rail. The Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 has been recently spotted testing on the India roads but the heavy camouflage only managed to reveal the alloy wheels setup that has been borrowed from the KTM Duke 390 itself.
