Confirmed: Husqvarna Bikes are Coming to India Next Year

A recent report in automotive industry claims that Husqvarna will enter India in 2018. Bajaj and KTM India has jointly decided to bring Husqvarna to a diverse market like India. That will even help them produce the same at Chakan, further reducing the cost of manufacturing and bringing a low, KTM style price tag.

Bajaj and KTM has completed 10 years in strategic partnership. BMW owned Husqvarna till 2013 while it still stands among the oldest operating brands around the world. Husqvarna was first operational in 1903. Partnership with KTM helped it achieve an all time high 30,000 units of sale worldwide.

When manufacturing the same in India, owners could place it further down and get maximum sales in the coming years. Half of the 2017 is over and getting one more exotic brand in limited number of days will make India an even more attractive market than before. Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 and Svartpilen 401 will drive the maximum number of sales for this brand in most parts of the world.

Bajaj will manufacture the Husqvarna Bikes in India

Currently, the production facility in India is good for 1,00,000 units. The best part will come when Bajaj Auto doubles the number to 2,00,000 in the coming years. Indonesia will be the next big market as KTM and Husqvarna products have an ideal displacement for the South Asian market.

Most parts on the entry level Husqvarna motorcycles are to shared with 390 Duke. The unique factor on these bikes include round headlights, dual purpose tyres and retro-modern design language. Husqvarna is even using spoke wheels on both of the entry level models. They could get placed around INR 2.50 lakh.
