Husqvarna Bikes Spotted Testing in India: Husqvarna is a lifestyle brand and that becomes clear from its limited but really impressive motorcycle options in certain markets. The brand has already cleared its intentions of launching lightweight, entry level products in India.
These images further backs the claim as both Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 and Vitpilen 401 were spotted in India in their production ready form. The motorcycles were carrying the testing specific number plates and will be produced at Bajaj Auto’s Chakan facility. The premium cafe racer style body design will help them claim unique status among other Indian bikes.
Earlier reports hinted that Husqvarna would enter India around late 2019 or early 2020 but these bikes have a different story hidden inside themselves. Part sharing with KTM 390 series will help Bajaj keep pricing at a healthy point and production could start anytime after successful testing schedule is over for these two bikes.
Svartpilen 401 is more off-road specific with dual purpose tyres, raised handlebar and more ground clearance while Vitpilen 401 comes with cafe racer dynamics and road specific parts. Clip-on handlebar makes Vitpilen 401 a commanding machine with impressive riding position.
Both these bikes use the same 373.2cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled and fuel injected engine producing 43.5 BHP and 37 Nm of torque. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Not just that, buyers will get ride by wire, WP inverted front forks, slipper clutch and much more in terms of physical as well as electrical equipment.
Front uses a 320mm single disc brake while rear comes with 230mm disc for effective braking, The dual channel ABS is also an effective feature to keep riders safe in case of hard braking. Husqvarna is expected to place these bikes at a premium over KTM 390 Duke. Expecting the price to start around INR 2.49 lakh may not be incorrect.
