Husqvarna Electric Scooter Spotted Testing in India; Based on Bajaj Chetak

With the emerging trend of electric vehicles in the country, the electric two-wheeler segment is also witnessing a rise in e-scooter development. In this way, a new electric scooter by Husqvarna has been recently spotted testing on the roads of Pune for the first time. The spy images are courtesy of Tushar Pawar.

As per the sources, the forthcoming scooter is based on Bajaj Auto’s Chetak electric scooter. After getting a good start in the Indian market by introducing its two bikes, Vitpilen 250 and Svartpilen 250, the brand now intends to make a bang in the scooter segment as well.

Husqvarna has already established a manufacturing hub in India to export its sub-400cc motorcycles, and hence, it is natural for the brand to extend its current lineup by adding some interesting products for our country. And so the brand was reported to be working on two new electric concepts earlier this year.

The anticipated EVs were the E-Pilen e-motorcycle and the Vektorr concept e-scooter. Speaking of the recently spotted electric scooter, it seems like the previously mentioned Vektorr. The e-scooter was spotted alongside the Bajaj Chetak, but it appears to be distinct from the latter.

Despite the fact that the spotted two-wheeler was completely camouflaged, we do get some design ideas for the rear and side profiles only. The test mule gets a split-style saddle and a grab rail different from the Bajaj Chetak. Moreover, the tail section and rear fender also appear to be distinguished from the Chetak electric scooter.

However, the instrument console seems identical. When it comes to the powertrain, the upcoming scooter could be the premium one and sit above the Chetak. As a result, it may have a longer range and higher power output than the current Bajaj electric scooter. The Chetak EV uses a 3.8kW motor and is capable of reaching a top speed of 70 kmph in Eco Mode.
