Husqvarna is all set to enter the 200cc street motorcycle segment with the launch of a new entry-level product. Christened as Husqvarna Svartpilen 200, the brand has officially released a set of photos of the upcoming motorcycle, which is based on the KTM Duke 200.
In terms of styling, the 200cc Svartpilen is heavily inspired by the Svartpilen 401, except for the alloy wheels and the under-belly exhaust system. As per the latest details available, the upcoming 200cc motorcycle is equipped with MRF tyres instead of the premium Metzelers to keep the costs under check.
In terms of braking, like the KTM Duke 200, the Husqvarna Svartpilen 200 is also equipped with a 300mm front disc brake and a 230mm rear disc brake. As Husqvarna is a premium brand when compared to KTM, the Svartpilen 200 will most probably be equipped with a BOSCH 2-channel ABS unit as standard. The suspension duties of the motorcycle are handled by 43mm upside telescopic forks at the front and an adjustable monoshock absorber at the rear.
The Husqvarna Svartpilen 200 is powered by the KTM Duke 200’s 199.5cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine that is capable to generate a maximum power of 25.8HP with a peak torque of 19.5Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission. In terms of features, like the rest of the Husqvarna motorcycles, the Svartpilen 200 is also equipped with a circular all-digital instrument console.
As of now, it is not confirmed whether the Husqvarna Svartpilen 200 will be launched in India or not. If it comes to India, it would be priced slightly higher than the KTM Duke 200, which is currently available in the market at an ex-showroom price tag of INR 1.62 lakh.
