According to recent reports, the Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 and Svartpilen 401 are expected to be launched in India by mid-2021. The motorcycles were previously expected to be launched as debut products from the brand though surprisingly, the India Bike Week 2019 witnessed the launch of lower-displacement Svartpilen 250 and the Vitpilen 250 as the debutant products from the Swedish brand.
The Husqvarna 401 series is currently available in the international markets while expected to make a substantial entry into the Indian market considering the powerful engine and the neo-retro designs. Based on the underpinnings of KTM Duke 390, the Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 features a cafe racer-inspired design language while the Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 features a scrambler design.

Both the motorcycles now feature a longer seat design when compared to the last-gen variants while getting a longer subframe by 40mm. In addition to this, the Husqvarna 401 series have been equipped with LED headlamps mated to LED DRLs.
Powering the Husqvarna 401 series is a 373cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine capable of offering 44HP of maximum power with an utmost torque of 37 Nm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

In the international markets, the Vitpilen 401 has been equipped with road-focused 17-inch spoke wheels while the Svartpilen 401 has been equipped with off-roading tyres. Whether or not, the international traits will be carried onto the India-specific variants is yet to be seen. One can expect the Husqvarna 401 series to be launched in the market at a price tag around INR 3 lakhs (ex-showroom).
