Jawa Forty Two Scrambler Spotted Testing For the First Time

Jawa Forty Two Scrambler Spotted Testing in India: For the first time ever, the much-talked-about scrambler version of Jawa Forty Two has been spotted testing on the Indian roads near the brand’s Research and Development (R&D) Centre located in Pune. As one can judge from the spy images, Jawa has retained the overall design lines of the standard version of Forty Two and has just added some scrambler design elements to differentiate the upcoming motorcycle.

Coming to the key changes, the Forty Two Scrambler version features dual-purpose tyres, fork gaiters, a different off-road style seat, a unique upswept exhaust system and an exposed tail section. The rest of the hardware parts like the spoke wheels, suspension, front mudguard, fuel tank, and rear-view mirrors remain the same as the regular model of Jawa Forty Two.

Apart from the slightly different looks, the rest of the features of Forty Two Scrambler remain exactly the same as the current model, and it is expected to launch with the same set of hardware components.

The suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks at the front while the rear of the motorcycle gets a hydraulic twin shock suspension. The motorcycle gets a 280mm disc brake at the front while the rear end is equipped with a 240mm disc brake.

Mechanically, the Jawa Forty Two Scrambler will come powered by the same 293cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, BS6-compliant engine which generates a maximum power output of 27.33 HP and 27.02 Nm of peak torque. The engine remains mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

As far as the pricing is concerned, we can expect that the scrambler model of Jawa Forty Two would be priced a bit higher than the Version 2.1 model which is available with a price tag of INR 1.84 lakhs (ex-showroom).
