2020 BS6 Jawa Classic and Forty Two Launch Details Revealed

As per the latest buzz, the 2020 BS6 Jawa Classic and Forty Two are expected to be launched in India in the coming days. The brand has revealed that both the motorcycles are BS6-ready as they are already equipped with fuel injection while require only minimal updates to comply with the upcoming BS6 emission norms. One can certainly expect the BS6 variants of the motorcycles to get a premium of just INR 4,000 to INR 5,000 when compared to their BS4 versions.

At present, powering the BS4-compliant Jawa Classic and Forty Two is a 293cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, single-cylinder engine that is capable of churning out a maximum power of 27HP and a peak torque of 28Nm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed transmission.

One can further expect the 2020 BS6 Jawa Classic and Forty Two to get revised power and torque figures as the resulting engine catering to stricter emission norms might tweak the performance by a bit. The braking duties will be handled by a 280mm disc brake at the front while the rear end will come with optional disc or drum brake setup. The updated motorcycles are expected to feature similar telescopic forks at the front and twin gas-charged shock absorbers at the rear.

Jawa Forty Two

The reports also suggest that the brand will be offering a BS6-compliant engine to both the single-channel as well as dual-channel ABS models of motorcycles. At present, the BS4 Jawa Classic is available in the market at a price tag of INR 1.64 lakh for the single-channel ABS version and INR 1.73 lakh for the dual-channel ABS variant. Similarly, the Jawa Forty Two is currently available in the market with a BS4-compliant engine at INR 1.55 lakh for single-channel ABS and INR 1.64 lakh for the dual-channel ABS version.

Once launched in India, the 2020 BS6 Jawa Classic and Forty Two will compete in the market with the likes of the recently launched BS6 Royal Enfield Classic 350 as well as the Benelli Imperiale 400.
